Vision
The Maa Annapurna Project stands as a sacred commitment to transforming the way society addresses hunger, moving beyond simple charity toward a system rooted in profound human dignity. Our core vision is to cultivate a compassionate world where no living being—human or animal—suffers from the pain of an empty stomach. We believe that food is not merely a physical necessity but a powerful medium for healing, mutual respect, and spiritual upliftment.
Inspired by the Aalish tradition of Langar and the Sanatan Dharma principle of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’, our foundation is built on the belief that serving others is the highest form of worship. This mission is dedicated with deep reverence to the nurturing spirits of Mother Earth and Mother Cow (Gau Mata), alongside the inspiring legacy of mothers like Maa Durga and Maa Pushpa. By providing pure, organic, and sattvic nourishment, we aim to improve the quality of life and spiritual consciousness for all. From the holy grounds of Vrindavan to our future community kitchens, we serve with a heart of devotion, ensuring that every meal is an offering of respect.
Mission
- To fulfil hunger through humanity
- To shift charity into a system rooted in human dignity and respect
- To continuously improve health, awareness, and quality of life through food
Inspiration & Foundation
The Maa Annapurna Project is deeply rooted in the sacred Aalish tradition of Langar and the timeless principle of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ (The Guest is God) from Sanatan Dharma. We believe that food is a fundamental necessity for life, representing one of the highest priorities for both humans and animals alike. Our vision is to build a compassionate and dignified society where no living being suffers from hunger, and where food serves as a powerful medium for healing, respect, and spiritual upliftment.
Our mission is to shift the concept of charity into a structured system rooted in human dignity. We are dedicated to providing sattvic, nourishing, and organic food that improves health, awareness, and the overall quality of life. Currently, we focus our efforts on serving widows and senior citizens in Vrindavan and Govardhan, ensuring they receive care and nourishment with absolute respect. This allows them to live peacefully in Krishna consciousness and devotion. By establishing community kitchens every 50 kilometers in the future, we aim to ensure that feeding the hungry remains a sacred offering and the highest form of worship.
Dedication
The Maa Annapurna Project is deeply rooted in the sacred essence of motherhood and selfless nourishment. We dedicate this initiative with profound gratitude to all mothers, starting with Mother Earth, the provider of all life, and Mother Cow (Gau Mata), the symbol of pure sustenance.
With deep reverence, we honour the guiding spirits of Maa Durga, Maa Pushpa, Maa Romila, Maa Asha, Maa Archana, and Maa Harsha. Their inspiration drives our mission to ensure that food serves as a medium of healing and respect, transforming charity into a system of human dignity.
